5 Month Sonogram Photos
His little mouth:
A little foot:
Just about to suck his thumb:
He's either going to eat us and put a curse on our children or he's laughing:
Baby Renoud is 12 ounces, the size of a soda can - so picture a soda can with arms - and is merrily swimming and kicking. This week, he will learn how to drive his mother crazy and hiccup.

Yes, It's a Boy! Here's the Proof!
Definitive proof that it's a boy!

What a Difference 2 Weeks Makes!
November 26 to December 5th! Same time of day. Whoosh! We've popped! And little Jameson Louis (no no, that's not the name - we're placeholding that one!) is moving every day. He's pretty active during the day and quiet during the night. His mother is very thankful for that ....

Baby Fat in my FACE
Argh! By the time this over, I am going to look like a massive watermelon! No baby bump showing in this dress (but from the side, you definitely could see it).

Belly Bump Photo
The belly bump really seems to come ago. You'll see in this photo that I'm sporting my oh-so-amazing maternity jeans. They're my regular jeans that I had a stretchy band put into so that I could easily fit into them for longer. =)
It's really not the most attractive photo in the world but I can take heart in knowing that I'm the smallest girl in yoga that's 18 weeks along. There's a bunch of us all clustered around the same time period.
One girl is 1 day ahead of me and her first Dr's appointment is December 15th. So, she'll be, 22 or so weeks before she sees the doctor for the first time. And they're not doing ultrasounds at all. Craaazy.

There Are Too Many Choices!
I spent the evening reviewing strollers and car seats. There is SO much to look at and research. ACK! And the pricing is insane - $170 to $900 for strollers. I haven't figured out what we're doing yet, but this cool "Convert your car seat to a pull-around stroller" looks pretty cool:
Also, I've been looking at what body wrap to get (Baby Bjorn etc...) and the Moby wrap is looking very appealing lately:

It's A ....
You will all find out over Thanksgiving what the sex of our little Renoud baby is! Dr. Kaepernick, my high-risk pregnancy doctor, is going to fit me in before her Thanksgiving vacation to confirm what the sex of the baby is before Mom and Dad take off for New Zealand.
I'm planning on announcing it with frosting-filled cupcakes - blue for boy, pink for girl - at Thanksgiving. It will be wonderful to tell you all at the same time. Until then, it's a secret ...

Belly Bump!
I'm finally showing! Although to be fair, I show a lot more after I eat an entire burrito (like here).

We have a PLUM!
Our baby is the size of a plum right now, has a heart beat of 174 and is just over 2 inches. It's right on track for growth. During the sonogram, Baby Plum did a lot of dancing, turning over and generally showing us a great view of the lungs expanding, the spinal column and its beautiful little feet and hands. It was definitely rockin' and a rollin' in my tummy. Chris actually got a little seasick during the process because the baby was moving so much.

The Breakfast of Champions
I'm still walking up in the middle of the night with morning sickness and going to bed feeling queasy. It's a small price to pay for a healthy baby but I'm looking forward to feeling better. This is what I ate on Friday morning for breakfast. Chris had to go to the grocery store to get me full jars of pickles and cocktail onions but it was definitely a yummy breakfast.

We're a 1" Raspberry!
Baby is a 1" inch large large Raspberry (the sonogram says so)! And, my uterus is (ewwww!) the size of a grapefruit right now.
I'm craving sugar like crazy and have eaten more sugar in the last two days than I think I ate all year (literally). I packed a healthy lunch for tomorrow, jammed full of protein, vegetables and good food to try and cut down on the sugar. I may be craving it but it doesn't mean it's healthy!
My husband ate an entire pint of Pink Grapefruit sorbet tonight so he's obviously going for the sympathy weight award.

Baby Sprout is an INCH long
The baby is almost a full inch long and the heart rate is 122 BPM. Not that I'm counting my chickens before they hatch, but I bought a bunch of new baby outfits yesterday. Sure hope it's a girl or else Jake is going to be feeling awfully silly on the playground.
