The lake house was super fun to live in while we were there. The kids had no toys for the first part of except what their friends sent or lent them so they made everything into a toy. Jamisen loved the crib box that Lily's new pack'n'play came in. The lake house is also smaller in size so the kids got to share a room which was fun for them. Of course, they both slept less and poor Lily really got the short end of that arrangement since she's supposed to be in bed a full hour before Jamisen.
Because of the small size of the house, we also had lots of family cuddle time. Every morning, the entire family would somehow end up in the queen bed, giggling and playing. That was fun. Jamisen also got to play with fire for the first time in his life and experienced a full-on bonfire. I don't know that he ever got any s'mores though; at least not while I was around! =)
Jamisen loved "fishing" - and really loved anything that let him be out on the dock.
Lily was right there along with him. Being at the lake is fun because you never worry about what you'll be doing in the evening. If the weather is good, you're out playing in the water on the beach.
Chris brought down 10 or 20 bags of sand to make the beach more barefoot-kiddo-friendly. It has given the kids a giant natural sandbox to play in.
Learning to share and cooperate over toys. Why is it that each kid wants the toy that the other kid has? It's the strangest psychological phenomenon.
Sweet Jamisen experiencing his very first dandelion blow; another lake first.
Grandma and Grandpa Faiola came up several weekends to help wrangle kiddos while Chris and I worked on our living situation (aka: finding and buying a new home). We were thankful for their help and support - and the kids were beyond thrilled. It was a win-win for everyone, even the grandparents who were exhausted by the end of the weekend.
